Pastor Jim is a Greenville native and a 1978 graduate of the “Old School,” or Parker High.
He earned his B.A. from Furman University in 1987 and worked toward a MDiv. at Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He is married to the former Beth Dooley,
also a Greenville native whom he met during a one-year stint at Winthrop College, Rock Hill,
South Carolina. Pastor Jim and Beth have four grown children, Megan (Lucio) Reyes, Jimmy Duncan, Jr., Rebecca (Mark) Doane, and Jonathan (Rebecca) Duncan. Pastor Jim and Beth love family, travel, and any amount of time spent at their cabin on Lake Hartwell! Pastor Jim has served Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Minister Children/Youth, Easley, South Carolina; First Baptist Church, Youth/Music, Ranger, Texas; Reedy Branch Baptist, Barnwell, South Carolina, Senior Pastor; Founded Victory Baptist Church, Barnwell, South Carolina and Senior Pastor Foreman Memorial Baptist Church, New Ellenton, South Carolina before accepting the call to Wrenn.

Alexis joined the staff at Wrenn Memorial Baptist Church in November of 2013. Alexis and her husband Steve have been members for over 32 years. During that time Alexis has served in
the roles of Deacon’s wife, junior camp, youth camp leader, VBS teacher, co-director of WMU, Awana leader, and currently church secretary. She has been married to the love of her life, Steve since 1969. They enjoy spending time with their sons Steve Jr. and Jason and are very proud of the individuals they are becoming. She and Steve have six grandchildren, who bring much joy and happiness to the family. She enjoys every minute she gets to be with them.
Shortly after her marriage to Steve, it was clear that she had married into a Christian family and she realized that a relationship with God was what she needed. In December 1972 she accepted Christ as her personal Savior at David Street Baptist Church. Alexis feels that God has richly blessed her and she is most grateful for her salvation, her family, and her church family.
Levi Murphy
Associate Pastor to Youth

Levi Murphy serves as the Youth Pastor at Wrenn Memorial Baptist Church, where he has faithfully ministered for the past four years. With a total of seven years in youth ministry, Levi is passionate about guiding young people toward a genuine, lasting relationship with Christ.
He earned his associate degree from Believer’s Institute of Biblical Studies and was licensed to preach in 2021, followed by his ordination in 2022.
Levi is known for his heart for discipleship, biblical teaching, and his hands-on involvement in the lives of the youth.
In addition to his work at Wrenn, Levi has served as a leader in prison ministry and is actively involved in the Proactive Parenting Initiative— with a monthly camp designed to help parents transform the lives of difficult or struggling children through biblical principles and practical guidance.
Levi has been married to Hannah Jolly Murphy since 2021. Together, they share a deep love for serving the Lord and building strong,
Christ-centered families.
